The Ned in London at Christmas is guaranteed to put you in the festive spirit — and celebrating a wedding there with friends and family only adds to the magic. Laura and Jack chose to host their wedding on the exclusive sixth floor of The Ned, creating a beautifully contained celebration with sweeping views across London’s skyline.

With a grand banqueting suite, a ceremony space that later transformed into a dance floor, a private lounge and two incredible balconies overlooking the city, every corner of the venue felt thoughtfully chosen. It really was a feast for the eyes, wherever you looked.

I absolutely loved documenting Laura and Jack’s wedding day in this iconic London venue. The festive atmosphere was unmistakable, with towering Christmas trees and twinkling lights throughout the space. December weddings at The Ned have a special kind of magic — with the décor already in place, everything feels warm, opulent and effortlessly celebratory. The ceremony room itself was stunning, with chandeliers suspended from high ceilings and tall windows framed by rich velvet curtains. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree in gold and silver stood behind Laura and Jack as they exchanged vows, perfectly framing the moment.

The day began upstairs in Laura’s suite — a light-filled room with its own private balcony — where she and her bridal party got ready together. It was a relaxed and joyful start to the day, with plenty of laughter, toasts and excited anticipation before heading downstairs. Meanwhile, guests began arriving on the sixth floor dressed in elegant black-tie attire, greeted by Jack as the energy steadily built.

The ceremony was heartfelt and full of warmth, with readings from close friends and moments of genuine laughter throughout. Shortly after tying the knot, we stepped out onto one of the private balconies overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral for a few relaxed group and couple portraits. It offered Laura and Jack a quiet moment to take everything in — newly married — while family gathered around to congratulate them.

We also made the most of The Ned’s impressive interiors, wandering through the lobby and stepping briefly onto the streets of central London for a few portraits of the newlyweds. Despite the crisp winter air, it was the perfect opportunity to capture the atmosphere of the city around them.

Drinks and canapés followed in the lounge and on the balconies before guests were invited into the wood-panelled banqueting suite, The Tapestry Room, for the wedding breakfast. Two long tables were beautifully styled, accompanied — of course — by even more Christmas trees. Speeches from Laura’s step-father, the best women and men, and Jack himself were filled with humour and affection, and capturing the laughter in those moments was such a joy.

As the evening unfolded, guests returned to the former ceremony room — now transformed into a lively dance floor — for the Hora, followed by an unexpected and brilliant surprise YMCA routine from family and friends. It was the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations before the live band took over, keeping the dance floor full late into the night.

Laura and Jack’s wedding was full of joy, warmth and festive energy — a true celebration of love and togetherness. Being able to document the entire day within the exclusive sixth floor of The Ned was such a pleasure, and a wonderful way to tell the story of their elegant London winter wedding.
