Hello, I’m Alex — a documentary wedding photographer based in Essex, just outside London, working across the UK and beyond.

My journey into wedding photography began with a light-bulb moment back in 2014 while travelling in Berlin. I was there with friends, happily snapping away and being the designated “memory keeper” of the group. I loved the idea that I was capturing moments we’d return to again and again — small details, shared time, fleeting feelings of joy. Somewhere between those moments, a thought formed: what a wonderful job that would be.

Little did I know then, but that passing comment sparked a chain of events that has led me here today — so danke, Heather.

My approach to photography is documentary at heart. I believe this is the most honest and meaningful way to record a wedding day: allowing events to unfold naturally, without interruption or performance, so you can be fully present with one another and your guests. It’s about observing rather than directing, noticing the in-between moments as much as the big ones.

With a background in art and years spent studying composition, storytelling and light, these considerations now come instinctively. The result is imagery that feels thoughtful, emotive and timeless — photographs that reflect not just how your day looked, but how it felt. For me, that’s what it’s all about: creating beautiful, honest images of you, your connection, and your story.
