Italy: Chic, Laid-Back Destination Wedding in the Tuscan Countryside Part I
Italy is one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure to visit and to capture the most chic, cool and relaxed wedding. Suze and Andy always knew they wanted to get married in this special country and they decided that Tenuta La Borriana, in the Tuscan countryside was the perfect venue to host their celebrations. This old farmhouse, situated amongst rolling hills, olive groves and elegant cypress trees was the perfect setting and the perfect size for them. There was enough room to accommodate Suze, Andy and their families as well as the wedding party and their families too! Guests were able to stay nearby, around 10 minutes away, in two other hotels, so everyone was close by and ready for the events ahead. Private taxis (fun buses) were arranged to transport guests from the other hotels and bring them to the main venue for all the celebrations, as well as returning them each evening – although no one really wanted to leave!
The wedding was hosted over two days with a pizza party by the infinity pool at the venue the day before the wedding where guests arrived and were able to mingle for the first time. To say the backdrop of this party was stunning would be an understatement. It was so amazing to see the sunset over the pool and the countryside whilst guests relaxed with a few drinks. All the food at the venue was incredible too – even though the venue was technically a trattoria (pasta specialists) they were able to host the pizza party with no problem – they were delicious and plentiful. My mouth waters thinking about them!
Have a look at the first part of this amazing wedding weekend in the heart of Tuscany and stand by for part two!
