A Micro Wedding at Beautiful Clissold House

Clissold House & Portland Restaurant

Clissold House, set within the greenery of Clissold Park in Hackney, is a beautiful Grade II-listed building and a wonderful choice for couples planning a more intimate wedding in London. Lydia and Clément knew immediately that it was the perfect place for them to tie the knot, and they invited a small group of close family to witness their heartfelt ceremony.

Their ceremony was full of thoughtful, personal moments. One particularly special detail was Lydia’s decision to recite her vows in French for Clément — and even without understanding the language, the emotion and love between them was unmistakable. They also chose to include a moment where each family member shared wishes and advice for the future, which Lydia and Clément listened to with so much warmth and appreciation.

Clissold House provided a beautiful backdrop for both group and couple portraits. Although it was a busy summer’s day in the park, the atmosphere only added to the sense of joy surrounding the celebration. We found several lovely spots around the house for photographs, keeping everything relaxed and natural.

After the ceremony, Lydia and Clément had arranged a private dinner at the nearby Portland Restaurant, where everyone enjoyed Michelin-star food and wine while celebrating the newlyweds. It was the perfect way to end such a thoughtful and elegant day — intimate, unhurried, and centred around connection.
