Beautiful Places. Real Connection.

I’m drawn to beautiful settings, but even more than that, I’m drawn to the people within them.

The nerves before the ceremony. The conversation happening at the edge of the room. The way everyone seems to exhale once the formalities are over. The little looks between the two of you when you’ve almost forgotten I’m there.

My approach is documentary at heart, with a little guidance when it’s useful.

THE WEDDINGS I LOVE TO PHOTOGRAPH

Islington Town Hall wedding, Council Chamber wedding ceremony
I’m not interested in making your wedding revolve around photographs. I want you to spend time with your people, enjoy where you are and actually experience the day you’ve planned. I’ll photograph what’s happening naturally, step in when a little direction will help, and make sure there’s space for the photographs that matter without everything feeling over-managed. A little guidance when you need it. Plenty of space when you don’t.

What made Alex’s photos so distictive is she really captured special moments and emotions throughout the day.”

Alex Rose Photography, London wedding photographer

“You were so kind, such a calming presence the entire day.”

HI, I’M ALEX.

I notice the things going on around the edges.

Who someone looks at when they’re trying not to cry. The conversations happening while everyone else is watching something else. The moment your shoulders drop after the ceremony because the thing you’ve been building towards for months has actually happened.

I also love beautiful spaces, good food, a great restaurant, London streets and all the visual details that make one wedding feel completely different from another.

But I don’t think any of those things matter without the people in them.

I’m naturally quite calm on a wedding day. I’ll step in when something needs organising, give you direction when it will help and quietly adapt when plans change — but I’m never looking to take over the room or make the day revolve around photography.

After years of photographing weddings, I’ve learnt that a big part of the job is knowing when to help, when to anticipate something and when to simply let the moment happen.

That judgement matters to me.

You don’t need to manage the photography for me. That’s part of what you’re trusting me to do. I’m based in London and photograph weddings across the UK and further afield.

I’m not interested in manufacturing a version of your wedding for photographs.

For most of the day, I’m watching.

People arriving. Hands being squeezed. Friends catching each other’s eye during the ceremony. Drinks being poured. Children doing completely their own thing. Someone laughing halfway through a speech.

Those are often the photographs that become more important as time passes.

I care deeply about how the photographs look too.

Light, composition, colour, architecture and all the visual details of a place matter to me — I just don’t want to manufacture a moment in order to use them.

That’s where the documentary and editorial sides of my work meet.

There will, of course, be moments when a little direction helps. I’ll find good light, suggest where to stand, help you into something that feels natural and step in when you need me to.

Years of photographing weddings in all kinds of spaces, light and weather means I’m very used to adapting as the day unfolds. If plans shift, the light changes or things run a little differently to expected, I’ll work with what’s actually happening and keep things feeling calm and natural.

So you won’t be left wondering what you’re supposed to be doing every time I lift the camera.

“The day definitely wouldn’t have run so smoothly without you.”

AND YES, WE CAN TAKE THE FAMILY PHOTOS.

If having photographs with your parents, grandparents, siblings or closest friends matters to you, we’ll make sure we take them.

I just don’t want them to take over your wedding.

We’ll agree the important combinations beforehand and keep things simple and efficient on the day, leaving you plenty of time to actually be with those people rather than spending an hour assembling them into different formations.

You don’t need to choose your photography around an arbitrary package.

Some weddings fit beautifully into a couple of hours. Others are better told across the whole day.

The aim is always the same: to make sure the photography fits around your plans, gives enough space for the parts that matter most to you, and still leaves room for the day to unfold naturally.

These are the two places I generally start, and from there we can shape the coverage around your timings and what feels important to you.

THE FULL STORY

£3,150

For weddings where you want the whole shape of the day remembered.

The quiet part before everything begins. The ceremony. Your people. Portraits without disappearing from the wedding for hours. Speeches, dinner, drinks and the point in the evening when everyone properly lets go.

Ten hours gives us enough room that the photography doesn’t need to dictate the pace.

There’s time for the photographs you know you want, but also for everything you couldn’t have planned for.

That matters to me. Because very often, those are the photographs that tell the story best.

“The photos were beyond anything we could have imagined — just stunning.”

The Full Story includes:

Up to 10 hours of photography
A carefully curated and individually edited gallery
High-resolution downloads
A private online gallery to share with family and friends
Preview photographs within the first week
Personal printing rights

SHORTER LONDON WEDDINGS

£900

Up to 2 hours

Some wedding days don’t need ten hours to feel complete.

A town hall ceremony, confetti on the steps, your closest people, a walk through London and a table waiting somewhere lovely afterwards can tell a brilliant story in a couple of hours.

I photograph these days in exactly the same way I photograph a full wedding.

The scale is smaller. The intention isn’t.

Two hours can work beautifully for a ceremony followed by family photographs, confetti and some relaxed photographs of the two of you before you head on to your celebration.

And if your plans need a little more room, additional coverage can be added at £300 per hour.

You don’t need to decide every detail immediately. Once I understand how your day is taking shape, I can help you work out how much coverage makes sense.

“The shots, lighting… everything is stunning. I am so grateful and feel incredibly lucky to have you capture our union.”

HOWEVER LONG I’M THERE, THE APPROACH DOESN’T CHANGE.

I don’t see a shorter wedding as a lesser version of a full day.

And I don’t photograph a ten-hour wedding as though every minute needs filling with photographs.

I’m looking for the same things either way.

People. Connection. Atmosphere. Beautiful light when we find it. The moments that happen because you’ve stopped thinking about being photographed.

“You really made us feel comfortable and special all day.”

“She spent time finding out what we wanted and this really came through in the final album.”

I’ll do the thinking about the photography so you don’t have to spend the wedding doing it.

You don’t need to know how long family photographs take, where the light will work best, whether we’ve allowed enough time between venues or what happens if the weather changes. That’s my side of the job.

Closer to the wedding, we’ll talk through the timings, the photographs that matter to you and anything else I need to know beforehand.

From there, I’ll put together a day plan for the photography, so we’ve thought through where everything naturally fits and anything that needs a little forethought.

Then, when the wedding arrives, you can get on with actually being there.

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

Every collection includes a carefully curated gallery of individually edited photographs in my signature style.

But the gallery isn’t just somewhere to download your photographs.

It’s where you’ll find the moments you remember, alongside the ones you didn’t even know were happening — the people you couldn’t see, the reactions happening behind you and all the smaller parts of the day that were unfolding while you were somewhere else.

Your photographs are delivered in high resolution through a private online gallery, where you can download them, create favourites and share a separate guest link with the people you love.

There’s also an integrated print store if you’d like to order professional prints afterwards.

I’ll send you a small selection of preview photographs within the first week, while everything still feels fresh.

The full gallery is usually delivered in around 8 weeks, with up to 12 weeks allowed during the busiest part of wedding season.

I’m much more interested in giving you a complete, well-curated story of the day than photographing towards a set number.

A LITTLE 35MM FILM

I love the slight unpredictability of 35mm — the grain, the colour and the fact that you don’t know exactly what you’ve made until the film comes back.

Where it feels right for the wedding, I may photograph a small part of the day on film alongside my digital work.

For now, I see it as another creative layer rather than something that needs to become a separate photoshoot or interrupt the way I work.

ALBUMS

Albums can be added after the wedding, once you’ve had time to live with your gallery and work out which photographs matter most to you.

I work with beautiful professionally made albums in a range of sizes, papers and finishes, and I’m very happy to help with the design when you’re ready.

SECOND PHOTOGRAPHERS

That might be because you’re getting ready in two different places, because there are a lot of guests, or simply because the logistics of the day mean we can tell the story more completely from two perspectives.

It isn’t automatically necessary for every wedding.

Second photographer coverage can be added from £350, and if I think your plans would genuinely benefit from one, I’ll let you know. Equally, if you’re wondering whether you need one, we can talk it through.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE’RE A GOOD FIT?

Once you feel I’m the right person to photograph your day, I’ll put together your quote and contract through my online booking system.

You can look through everything at your own pace and sign electronically.

A 35% booking fee secures your date, with the remaining balance due 60 days before the wedding.

And then?

You can go back to planning your wedding.

I don’t need every timing, every group photograph or every little detail immediately.

We’ll come back to the photography properly once the shape of the wedding is established, and if it would be useful, we can always arrange a call or FaceTime too.

And if questions come up along the way, or you’d like a recommendation for a supplier or somewhere to start with part of the planning, I’m always happy to help where I can.

I want the planning to feel useful — not like another job I’ve given you.

ONE LAST THING

By the time your photographs matter most, the wedding itself will already be over.

The flowers will have gone, the dinner will have been eaten and everybody will have gone home.

What I want to give you isn’t a version of the day that looked perfect from the outside.

It’s something that takes you back to what it felt like from the inside.

“You captured the best day of my life in the most beautiful way and we are so grateful — and we always will be.”

IF YOU’D LIKE ME THERE

If you’ve already been in touch, just reply to my email and we can talk through your plans a little more — the timings, what you’d like covered and how the day might flow.

There’s no need to have everything worked out before we speak. We can take it from there together.
